ICC agrees to form board to regulate Nepali cricket
Kathmandu- A team of International Cricket Council (ICC) officials, called on Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Sunday. ICC is currently in Nepal with an objective to resolve the dispute surrounding Nepal’s cricket governing body.
According to Minister for Youth and Sports, Daljit Shripali, ICC agreed to constitute Cricket Development Board to regulate Nepali cricket after a team led by ICC Chief Executive David Richardson met PM Dahal.
Minister Shripali added that an advisory committee comprising of five to seven members will be formed soon for that. He added that the government plans to hold elections of the board within three months.
Nepal Sports Council (NSC) Member-secretary, Keshav Bista was also present on the occasion.
ICC had suspended the membership of Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) citing government’s interference in April.
