Indian firing kills 6 Pakistani civilians
Islamabad- The Pakistani Foreign Ministry said Friday that six civilians, including two women, were killed by Indian “unprovoked” firing since Thursday at the Working Boundary in Shakargarh sector and on the Line of Control (LoC) in Nikial sector.
The ministry said in a statement that injured civilians reached 22 in the firing. The Pakistani side summoned the Indian Deputy High Commissioner on Friday and strongly condemned the unprovoked ceasefire violations.
Pakistan urged the Indian side to respect the 2003 Ceasefire Understanding, investigate the continued incidents of ceasefire violations, instruct the Indian forces to respect the ceasefire, in letter and spirit, stop targeting the villages and civilians and maintain peace on the Working Boundary and the LoC, according to the statement. -Xinhua
