UDMF, UML cadres clash in Gaur
Gaur- A clash erupted between the cadres of United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) and CPN-UML in front of District Development Committee (DDC) on Tuesday afternoon.
The clash was ensued after UDMF leaders protested the visit by UML senior leader and former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal.
A team of UML leaders including Nepal had reached DDC to participate in the meeting of Constituency Infrastructure Development Program. UDMF leaders then started sloganeering against Nepal and other UML leaders. The clash erupted after UML cadres resorted to a counter sloganeering.
DSP Nabin Bhandari at District Police Office, Rautahat told that they have arrested six UDMF cadres involved in the sloganeering to contain the clash.
The arrested are Sadhbhawana leader Yogendra Yadav, Tarai Madhes Democratic Party leader Arjun Singh, District Chairman of student wing of Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal, Prakash Yadav and student leader Lalan Yadav among others.
According to him, personnel of Nepal Police and Armed Police Force (APF) were deployed in large number following the clash. The meeting concluded amidst a tight security, he said
UML senior leader Nepal, UML lawmaker and former minister Banshidhar Mishra, leader Kalyani Khadka, lawmakers Ram Kumar Bhattarai and Lalbabu Yadav have arrived in the district for the meeting.
