CPN (UML) decides to protest government move
Kathmandu- The CPN (UML) has decided to strongly protest the government’s move for the constitution amendment keeping its main responsibility at bay.
A Standing Committee meeting of the party held at the residence of party Chairman, KP Sharma Oli, at Balkot took the decision to that end.
The political conspiracy is being hatched to invite confrontation in the society and to create gap among the political parties in the pretext of constitution amendment, the meeting noted.
The meeting also drew the governments’ attention not to move ahead towards such path being sensitive to the current volatile situation of the country and aspiration of the people.
Talking to media persons after the meeting, party vice-chairman Bhim Rawal said the CPN (UML) was committed to save the nation, nationality and territorial integrity while ruling out any essence of unwanted constitution amendment.
Central Publicity Department Chief Yogesh Bhattarai shared that the meeting decided to launch strong protest if any coercive efforts were made on constitution amendment despite disagreement from CPN-UML.
The party would protest any effort meant to seriously hurt the nationality, unity, national integrity and social harmony and has called all the political parties in the Legislature-Parliament to foil such move.
The meeting has also ruled out the relevance of the supplementary budget the government is trying to introduce in breach of the Article 121 of the Constitution. RSS
