President Bhandari discusses pressing issues with top leaders
Kathmandu- President Bidya Devi Bhandari has discussed pressing issues of contemporary national politics with top leaders of five big political parties represented in the parliament.
President’s Press Advisor Madhav Sharma informed the National News Agency (RSS) that President Bhandari discussed various issues including the constitution amendment and preparation for holding the three sets of elections within the constitutional timeframe.
Leader of Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (Loktantrik), Ram Janam Chaudhary, who also attended the meeting, said the President drew the attention of the government and the major opposition on how they were preparing for holding the elections in three tiers.
During the meeting, Prime Minister and Chairman of the CPN (Maoist-Centre) Pushpa Kamal Dahal made it clear that the elections were gradually being shadowed for amendment bill and the elections bill were yet to be passed by the parliament. “The government was ready to announce the election date if the parliament was resumed,” he added.
NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba seconded the PM saying the CPN-UML should be responsible for resuming the parliament business, while UML Chairman KP Oli said his party was ready to lift obstruction at the parliament if the election bills were presented in the parliament.
Moreover, RPP Chairman Kamal Thapa suggested for seeking solution through new vein.
Chairman of Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (Loktantrik), Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar argued that if other parties implemented his party’s proposal of eight provinces, country would get solution soon. RSS
